This Sunday is UMW Sunday for Many
September 21, 2012, 10:42 PM

I'm heading for Crawford on Sunday morning to celebrate worship and UMW Sunday with the Crawford UMC.  This will be my second UMW Sunday in a row because I got to worship with the congregations at Morton Chapel and DeLeon UMC last week.  It was my honor to get to speak to these congregations and the De Leon women did such a good job leading the service through prayer, music, women's choir, and all.  I was very impressed and blessed.

I'm looking forward to participating in the reading of the litany Aurora Cepeda provide for us on this UMW Sunday.  I've been thinking about the phrase "And So Shall We" all week. I hope you get to read it in your church because it helps us remember our history and inspires us to live up to the example of our foremothers . From Esther to Mary Magdalene, from Lois and Euince to isabella Thorburne and Clara Swain, we are surroundered by a great cloud of witnesses.  These women surely served God well." And So Shall We"
